Three Days of My Springbreak Went Into Making This Bag

One of my friends from French class asked me to make her a bag so that she could say she had one of my pieces before I was famous...hahaha. Oui, bien sur!
So, this is what I came up with

I did all the embroidery by's just embroidery floss that I sew onto interfaced fabric. The fabric is a linen-like blend. It's just easier and cheaper to work with.
That's the inside! Isn't the lining cool? There's inside pockets and a magnetic snap--you can also see my label!

Red pants

Perhaps you've been seeing a bunch of really cool, stylish people rocking the red pants lately
Like this woman on The Sartorialist...
Or on the runways...

(Monique Lhullier)

Or on this fashionable girl...
Wait a minute! That's me! Yes, I made my own red crop pants!
I used a Simplicity Built by Wendy pattern that I can no longer find on the website.
I absolutely loved how these turned out.  I took me so much longer than usual to make them because I made them at school, so I really only got to sew like half of a class period.  But they fit so perfectly and are the exact color that I wanted. YAY!

With pockets and back flaps! And a zip fly!
I also would have finished these a lot earlier if I hadn't cut the pants 6 inches shorter than intended because I had the pattern folded up.  Duh!
